Cancer of the breast, and in fact any cancer at all is a scary challenge to face. It's terrifying to face for both the patient and the supporters. Survival depends on the level of financial, emotional and physical support that is received in most cases. Breast Cancer awareness promotional items serve multiple purposes all of which benefit survivors, victims and the supporters who help them through their struggle.

The popular promotional items used to raise awareness to this terrible illness is the pink ribbon. The pink ribbon is available in varying forms. Some are made into tie pins, broaches, decorative buttons or badges. Event though many would consider the pink ribbon to be a feminine item, many men wear it to signify their solidarity with those who are facing the illness.

Customized shirts also help to bring attention to this disease which is a serious global issue. These shirts are typically white, but are sometimes pink and may be decorated with the face or names of survivors. They may even carry important messages about the fight against the disease. At times they are used to bear messages designed to recruit others to join the efforts to reduce or eliminate the illness.For the shirts, the face of the patient along with some inspiring statement may be displayed and the jewelry may have the initials emblazoned into it.

For persons who drive, bumper stickers represent one of the most common methods to bring awareness to any issue including cancer of the breast. The great thing about bumper stickers is that they take the message far and wide with little effort. Al that is required is for the bumper section of motor vehicle bearing the sticker to be visible to others. To increase the impact of the message, some drivers place two bumper stickers on their vehicles, one at the front and one at the back. This way they get to double up on the number of persons their message reaches.

These attention grabbing promotional tools function as awareness triggers but they do more than this. They are also used as fund-raising tools. Both professional entities and individuals use them to raise funds to support their anti-cancer ventures.

These items can be used to support individual battles against this illness. When used for this purpose, they generally function as part of a campaign arranged by the people who are int he patient's circle of support. Sometimes they are issued at cancer research funding events. In other instances, they are used to raise funds for the general struggle against the ailment.

They also carry sentimental value. For many of the loved ones of victims of the disease, mementos such as items of jewelry are great keepsakes that help them to grieve. Often they have their loved ones' names or initials engraved into the jewelry. Sometimes a brief inspirational message or quote is included depending on the space that is available for the engraving. The sentimental value of these items is definitely not lost on the survivors of the disease. Many of them make bold and inspiring statements about their own journeys with the disease through these promotional tools.

Quite often though, those who use them capitalize on their multi-purpose feature. In doing so they use them for both their fund-raising and promotional value at the same time. When the severe nature and global impact of the illness is considered, it is easy to see the justification for their use in this fashion.
